Information
The General Education Core Curriculum (IAI-GECC) credential may be awarded to a student upon completion of a minimum 37 credit hours across five academic disciplines which satisfy the General Education Core Curriculum of the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI). Successful completion of this credential will help students to facilitate transfer to any other participating associate or bachelor degree program. Participating institutions have agreed to accept this credential as a "package" in lieu of their own comparable lower-division general education requirements.
Additional Information
This program verifies completion of the IAI "package," course-to-course transfer credit is not guaranteed. You should work with your institutions to see exactly how your courses will transfer beyond the IAI package. For more information, contact the ICC Transfer Center or visit the iTransfer website at iTransfer Home | iTransfer (itransfer.org). Through specific course choices, this program may be completed completely online.
To Complete the General Education Core Curriculum (GECC) Milestone
Students must earn a GPA of 2.0 or higher in all courses to successfully complete this credential.
